YOU CAN'T GET A LYFT IN BROOKLYN OR QUEENS JUST YET
It was supposed to launch this evening. But the distinctive Lyft ride share cars with their pink mustaches on the grills, aren't answering calls in Queens and Brooklyn. At least not yet. That's because state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman got an injunction from a state court. He argues that the cars need to be licensed by the taxi and limo commission. The operators of Lyft say it's a ride share - not a limo service. You summon a ride with a smartphone app which pinpoints your location for the driver. A judge has scheduled a full hearing on the matter for Monday.
