Two teenagers - both killed in Essex County. Both victims of robbery-murders. Unrelated cases. But similar in that respect. Four people in custody now in the killings of 17-year-old Cheynne Bond - a recent graduate of Shabazz High School in Newark. And 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin - who was attending college at the University of Richmond.
The accused shooter in Tevlin's murder - a one-man crime spree - a prosecutor's source says. Wanted for two murders in Seattle. He's a convicted sexual offender - the victim a 6 yr old - and was arrested following a car jacking in Pleasant. Tevelin was surrounded at a West Orange light by some guys who jumped out of a car. He was shot eight times. Bond was killed while down a Newark street. The killings just four days apart.
