CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ARE TAKING OVER A NEW YORK CITY PARK FOR FASHION WEEK

The sound of children playing and nearby Julliard students making music has been replaced by construction noise as Damrosch Park, adjacent to Lincoln Center, is transformed into an exhibition center for Fashion Week. Lots of revenue and excitement for the city. But the city park is now off-limits residents, who are threatened with arrest if they dare tread on what was city park land. The gardens, the trees, the park benches are all gone. There's a lawsuit challenging the use of the public park for such a private money making event. But it's obviously too late to resolve before Fashion Week this year.
