GREAT ADVENTURE APOLOGIZES TO MARINE VET WHO WAS ORDERED TO TAKE OFF HIS PRO-MILITARY SHIRT (BUT THE POLICY STANDS)
He served in the Marines in the Iraq war with pride. Enlisted after 9/11. And was wearing his Keep Calm and Return Fire t-shirt when he and his family went to Great Adventure - a shirt that includes a star spangled M-16 rifle. And was turned away. Today, Great Adventure is adhering to the policy - but apologizing for the treatment of Mario Alejandro. Alejandro thanks Great Adventure for the apology. But says that perhaps they could have offered to sell him a shirt from the gift shop and treated him with a greater degree of respect. He also says - had he worn the shirt shortly after 9/11 - he doubts he would have been challenged.
