The first is about Paul J Van Blarcum. He's the sheriff of Ulster County New York. And says - in light of the terrorist attack in Paris and of the "we don't know if this is a terrorist attack" mass shooting in San Bernardino, licensed handgun owners should carry their guns with them.
But what if you are not a licensed gun owner?
Steve Smith is a homeless guy in Stockton California. When he saw a man stick a gun in the face of the woman clerk in a Chevron gas station, he grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed the robber. Who then, as cops like to put it, fled the scene.
Seems the good folks of Stockton are so appreciative that some of them are banding together to bring Smith new clothes and a better life. Proving that, sometimes, a good deed does go unpunished.
