He'd been held in a cell in an Arab nation for 9 weeks, now he's suddenly a free man again and back home in the USA

One of my stories on Fox News Headlines 24/7 on SiriusXM 115:

A Florida man who'd been held in jail in Abu Dhabi for months has suddenly been freed. Thanks to the unrelenting efforts of his sister.

Matthew Gonzales was arrested for entering Abu Dhabi with his prescribed pain medication but without permission from the United Arab Emirates. His sister making repeated trips to the UAE to try to win his release.

Suddenly - he's taken from his cell - but not told where he's going.

"I got  put on the plane in shackles and handcuffs and I just got off to this," Gonzales says on his return to the United States.

"It's surreal."

The legal system there, he says, is not the same as what Americans enjoy at home.

"You're guilty until proven innocent," he says. "It's not a play on words. It's literally the truth there."

He got back just in time for his mother's funeral today.
