Some Good And Some Bad Job Market News

The good news is that layoffs are beginning to subside as the economy shows signs of recovery. The bad news is that unemployment continues to rise.

The reason, according to a story by the Associated Press, is that companies just aren't hiring right now.

Here are two other byproducts of the current economic crisis. More people seem to be appreciating the jobs they have. But I'm hearing more people complain that their bosses are piling more work on them, both because there are fewer co-workers to take up the slack and because they know that employees will do the work without complaint because it's so difficult to find another job. I guess that's the law of supply and demand at work here.

Just the sort of climate for exploitation of the workers!
